Crews are continuing work to resurface M-29 (Green Street) in New Baltimore, Macomb County. The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that eastbound M-29 between Huntley Street and Murdick Drive will remain closed, with one westbound lane open until Thursday morning, October 2. At that point, construction will shift: westbound M-29 from County Line Road to Huntley Avenue will close, and one eastbound lane will open. The resurfacing is scheduled for completion by 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 9.

During the closure of westbound M-29, drivers will be detoured using southbound County Line Road and westbound Main Street before returning to westbound M-29 (Green Street/23 Mile Road).

The project is part of a $3.2 million investment targeting improvements along M-29 (23 Mile Road, Green Street and Main Street) between Baker Road and the St. Clair County line. The work includes resurfacing the road surface, upgrading sidewalk curb ramps, improving pedestrian traffic signals, and restriping permanent pavement markings in both New Baltimore and Chesterfield Township.

According to economic models cited by the Michigan Department of Transportation, this investment is expected to support approximately 31 jobs through direct and indirect effects.
