The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close Henry Joy Boulevard at I-94 in Macomb County starting October 6 to complete repairs on the westbound I-94 bridge. The closure follows damage from a high-load vehicle incident last fall.

Both directions of Henry Joy Boulevard, between M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) and Irwin Drive, will be closed for the duration of the repairs. Local traffic will still be able to access Henry Joy Boulevard between Gratiot Avenue and Lenfesty Drive.

Detours are set for both eastbound and westbound traffic. Eastbound drivers will be rerouted via southbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue), southbound Market Street, eastbound North River Road, and northbound Irwin Drive. Westbound drivers will use southbound Irwin Drive, westbound North River Road, and northbound M-3 (Gratiot Avenue).

According to MDOT, "Henry Joy Boulevard will reopen on Wednesday, Oct. 8."
