Army veteran and businessman Mike Rogers, who is running for the U.S. Senate with an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, has received the backing of State Representative Phil Green of Michigan’s 67th House District.

In a video statement, Rep. Green explained his reasons for supporting Rogers: “I’m State Representative Phil Green from the thumb area of Michigan – here with Mike Rogers, a man I consider a friend. I’ve known Mike in the political world on the policy side for many years, but the reason I’m endorsing him is not because of the policies; although, I do believe Mike will do everything within his power to secure America’s borders, to secure America’s digital security. The reason I’m endorsing him is because I know Mike as a human being and as a person, and I appreciated how Mike handles himself. And Mike will be a credit to the state of Michigan in the U.S. Senate. Thank you, Mike.”

Rogers responded by expressing gratitude for Green’s endorsement: “Thank you, Phil. Great. Thank you very, very much. [It] means the world to have his endorsement. This is a leader in the thumb. And guess what? When you call the Senate, for the first time in 32 years, a Republican is going to pick up the phone.”

Rep. Green joins several others who have endorsed Rogers’ campaign for Senate. These include former President Trump; Senators John Thune and Tim Scott; Senators John Barrasso, Roger Wicker, Tom Cotton, Steve Daines, and Tim Sheehy; Congresswoman Lisa McClain; Congressman Bergman; Congressman Walberg; 20 local leaders in Macomb County; Sheriffs Dan Abbott, Doug Chapman, Mike Murphy, Pat Whiteford, Scott Hodshire; and The Police Officers Association of Michigan (POAM).
