Grandville Police Department recently issued the following announcement.
It was a very successful event yesterday at the Devos Children's Hospital. Almost every department in the area was represented and those that couldn't make it to the event still contributed greatly.
Sarah Greene from the First Responders Children's Foundation wrote a very nice note to us all....
"Thank you so much for the honor to meet you all and to help support what you do. First Responders Children's Foundation is grateful to build relationships with our local police and fire departments. Our mission is to serve first responders and their families, particularly during times of tragedy and when we lose a first responder in the line of duty. Through our Toy Express program, we can build our relationship further and provide a way for your departments to give back to the communities you serve.
Though First Responders Children's Foundation is based in New York City, our West Michigan roots are strong. Several of us are from this area. Our Toy Express "operation" and warehouse is located in South Haven, MI. I'm from (and live) in Grand Rapids but go back and forth from the lakeshore. We are grateful to the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police and to the Grandville Police Department and Chief Anglim for this introduction and the friendships we have formed. It personally means a lot that we can give back to West Michigan and see that direct impact.
On behalf of the First Responders Children's Foundation, thank you for this opportunity. We are honored to be contributing to the work you do.
Stay safe and be well. Please reach out at any time if you need anything at all."
